According to the Chief Fire Officers Association the latest official figures estimate that the total cost of fire to the country was £7.03bn, with the average cost of a commercial premises fire £147,500.
The threat of a fire occurring within a building in the UK is still regarded as an event that is not likely to happen to most people whether they are part of a large commercial concern, local authority building or single private dwelling.
