In March 2013 the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) urged owners and tenants of industrial properties across the UK need to be aware that automatic fire suppression systems are the most effective way of protecting their businesses from the devastating effects of fire, ensuring that jobs are not needlessly lost and that the local community and environment is protected.
Fire in unprotected industrial premises poses significant threat to fire fighter lives.

CFOA believes that the threshold limit of 20,000 sq meters before commercial premises are fitted with fire suppression systems is too great. In Europe the requirements are much smaller and in Scotland building standards require the installation of a suppression system at far smaller floor areas than in England and Wales.

As the carbon footprint of a building increases by a factor of three when destroyed by fire, CFOA believes that the environmental impact of fire in commercial premises is too great.

A fire in an industrial property can be devastating for a business and the local environment. A fire stops production, hits jobs and can ultimately lead to company closures. Meanwhile, flammable liquids and materials stored on industrial properties can make the fire fighters’ jobs more hazardous.

At Premier Mist we understand that industrial properties require robust industrial fire suppression systems, capable of detecting and suppressing fires in unforgiving and often unmanned environments, ensuring business critical machinery is protected whatever the circumstances.

That’s why our DualMIST™ low pressure system is the ideal fire protection for industrial properties as the low flow characteristics of the system delivers a highly efficient fire suppression solution for those responsible for the safety of industrial premises and their employees.

The DualMIST™ system discharges only 30 LPM per nozzle which is substantially less than other credible mist providers and traditional sprinkler systems.

The low discharge positively affects the following:

• Optimal plant sizing consisting of a combined tank and pump sets within a 3m (l) x 1.5m (w) footprint.

• Total plant weight including water storage tank of only 7000 kg

• Main pipe sizing up to maximum of 40mm

• Reduced installation time

• Retro-fitting for older premises

• Reduced water damage

• Minimum down time following discharge
