PREMIER MIST PROGRESS WORKS TO SANCTUARYS EXTRA CARE FACITLY IN PAIGNTON
Premier Mist utilising their DualMIST™ System recently secured a significantly sized extra care facility owned by Sanctuary Housing.
The order was placed through a local Mechanical and Electrical services provider following Sanctuary’s technical evaluation of the Premier mist system.
The Building is to offer first class extra care accommodation to elderly residents over 5 floor levels.
Nick Ketteridge technical director of Premier Mist stated that “following the successful completion of residential fire testing at BRE GLOBAL our system has attracted considerable interest from residential care home developers, it is I believe through system development, stringent fire testing and third party validation by accredited third parties that we are able to offer clients such as Sanctuary housing a system that exceeds others in both efficiency and aesthetics. The unique design and flow characteristics of our system enables our suppression of fire utilising minimal amounts of water. I attended a technical meeting with senior representatives of Sanctuary housing and I was extremely impressed by their attention to detail and quality, the residents safety and comfort was paramount to them. We are delighted to be of assistance to Sanctuary housing on this scheme and look forward to progressing our works to completion.
Peter Duval Managing director was equally impressed by Sanctuary’s approach to fire safety and would like to thank them for placing this order with Premier mist.
The works are progressing very well at site and we would give thanks to all involved in this project from design, project management, site engineers and suppliers.
“My team are very competent and I meet regularly with them to discuss any issues arising from our works that may affect our performance, environmental impact and safety of staff/others as a result of our services”.
Premier Mist chose QMS International PLC to accredit and audit our management systems as they are unquestionably one of the leading organisations of global proportion whom specialise in the ISO accreditation and certification scheme. Established back in 1993 their philosophy is ‘keep it simple’ and this is exactly what we try to do here at Premier Mist. QMS have been recognised as a leader in their field, winning the prestigious ‘green apple’ award for environmental best practices and awards such as the ‘arch of Europe’ for recognising quality and excellence within companies. Senior assessor Chris Tuffrey complimented Premier Mist on its systems in our recent audit, stating:
“It was a pleasure auditing Premier Mist, their management, environmental, health & safety systems are second to none. It is rare I visit a company that have developed every aspect of their processes, from initial enquiry to installing their renowned product everything has been documented and internally scrutinised to ensure they have the best possible systems in place. I would also endorse Premier Mist for the fact they have captivated their responsibilities to health & safety and the impact on the environment by the appointment of an external SHE (safety, health & environment) advisor, who has worked closely to collate an outstanding workable SHE manual”

FIREX INTERNATIONAL - May 2013
By August 13 of this year, all new and existing nursing homes in the US will be required to install automatic fire sprinklers, without waivers or exceptions.
Meanwhile, Wales will become the first country in the world where sprinklers will be compulsory in all new homes. The law will apply to newly built houses and blocks of flats, as well as care homes and university halls of residence.
At Premier Mist we believe a similar law will be introduced throughout the UK that requires all care homes to have automatic fire suppression systems. If you’re concerned about the impending regulations and want to find out more about the DualMIST™ visit the Premier Mist website or call us on 0845 8384361.
The International fire exhibition concluded successfully on Thursday 16th of May, the event was very successful and provided a show case for our products to an international market.
Peter Duval our CEO, stated “we have made many friends during our week at the N E C, the interest in our systems from in particular businesses across Europe was extremely encouraging and via Optimist several meetings have been arranged for June and July to progress matters with potential overseas clients. Our DualMIST™ system, given the pending approvals to FM 5560 is seen as the ideal fire protection solution to amongst many the Italian, Greek, Dutch, French and Ukrainian market”. Valter Villa of Electronica in Italy said simply when asked about the system “PERFETTO” Mr Villa attended our stand on a daily basis and is keen to promote our technology to the Italian market.
Nick Ketteridge our technical director stated that “a priority for our business is the continuous development and validation of our products and as such we are pleased to be in discussions with the FPA to utilise their new fire test facility located at Moreton in Marsh, to carry out testing to FM 5560”. The impressive new facility was show cased in an open presentation at Firex and discussions ensued between Nick Ketteridge and Simon Bird of the FPA and Max Chaplin of FM establishing a sound relationship moving forward to full type testing and approval.
Further interest was attained for the DualMIST™ fire guardian, it was a great topic of conversation to many, its slick and aesthetic appearance underpins its flawless design concept, “the fire guardian seduced many” claimed our Design Manager who was pleased to assist in the numerous enquiries received from residential clients.
Premier Mist look forward greatly to the their next exhibition at the N E C which is planned for later this year.

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our DualMIST™ system to the St Barnabas retirement college in Surrey. Our system is installed to all areas of the college including self-contained living accommodation, common areas, corridors and a small chapel.
We congratulate all staff members who have worked tremendously well throughout this contract, the scheme was entirely unique and presented the team with some significant design and installation challenges, a special mention must be made to our site team led by senior engineer John Parker who continues to produce exceptional work and his ethics to customer care must be applauded.
The installation was carried out to an occupied listed property holding an abundance of character and individuality, our works were coordinated as to fully accommodate all residents and to ensure that our pipe routes were installed in an aesthetically pleasing and discreet manner.
We would further thank the college management, staff and residents for their assistance and hospitality during our works, our suppliers particularly International Plastics for their efforts in the supply of pipework and connections for the works.
Our Projects Director Adrian Tolson stated “this type of installation is always difficult due to the complexity of working within an occupied area, the positioning of service pipework was a challenge to us, but this was overcome mainly due to the reduced pipe sizing required for DualMIST™ in essence the installation was straight forward enough, if compared to installing a conventional sprinkler system.
I am pleased to have been part of this prestigious project”.

PREMIERMIST REPLACE NOZZLES INSTALLED BY ROGUE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR
Following a recent BAFSA report on system misrepresentations, Premier Mist have received enquires in the replacement of none-credible components for their validated DualMIST™ nozzles.
A number of nozzles have been removed and replaced by Premier Mist following technical disclosures by one of the world’s leading fire test laboratories and UK's leading trade associations, Premier Mist continue to advise clients on issues of system compliance and nozzle suitability and prevail upon anyone concerned by their water mist installation to contact their technical team for advice.
Our technical director Nick Ketteridge has a 15 year history in the development and progression of low pressure water mist in the UK and has a direct involvement in the approval protocol for water mist systems in the UK and represents both the British and European standards committees in a technical capacity.

Nick Ketteridge stated that:
“It is imperative that both sprinkler systems and water mist systems are installed to the appropriate test standard protocol, designers and contractors must strictly comply to the relevant design parameters for each system. Only recently it has been found that nozzles have been installed by contractors that have actually failed fire testing and test documentation has been amended to change the design parameters of a specific system, these matters are I believe isolated but nonetheless concerning. Premier Mist made the necessary changes to these systems and by doing so the operator now has a safe and effective suppression system. I would prevail on those parties who are responsible for the assessment of systems to remain vigilant and ensure that all designers and contractors comply to the relevant parameters of each system, ensuring that testing and validation of systems has been undertaken by independent accredited organisations such as the BRE GLOBAL. Premier Mist have tested the nozzles removed and it is clearly obvious that they do not give sufficient coverage, they were positioned too sparsely to afford anywhere near the protection envisaged.

Commercially they have a product which is competitive, and with the strong team and performance behind Peter Duval they have an edge/balance which goes beyond the normal service that you usually find with other sub-contractors of this nature.
We propose to use Peter & his team on future projects and would have no hesitation in recommending them to other contractors for mist suppression works”.

“It was an absolute pleasure to work with GB at Llangaren house, their site management team were extremely helpful and professional throughout”

We acted quickly to mitigate any completion issues prevalent by the delay in our appointment by engaging one of our proficient engineering teams to site, the installation was expeditiously brought up to our required level of quality and the works were thankfully handed over to our client on time and in good working order”.
